This knee high stocking pattern is knit from the top down. The right and left socks are mirror images of each other with a large clock motif on the outer side. Twisted stitch cable panels emerge from the clock motif and veer in different directions, one down the top of the foot at an angle and the other down the heel flap. Over 200 size combinations requiring 3 simple measurements and no arithmetic.
